A Blue Carbon Framework for Singapore's
Climate Change Policy
About us
BlueCarbonSG is dedicated to creating Singapore's first Blue Carbon Accounting Framework, quantifying blue carbon's unique potential to contribute to Singapore’s greenhouse gas reporting and climate change targets. Studying carbon-rich ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrasses, and mudflats, this project highlights these ecosystems' critical role in carbon storage and models their past, present, and future dynamics for a more robust understanding of blue carbon as a nature-based climate solution.
Each focus area is led by a leading expert, supported by other principal investigators, researchers, and collaborators. Together, they provide a cohesive approach to understanding blue carbon dynamics, from site-specific studies to national-scale modeling and actionable policy recommendations.
